    W Polsce i na Węgrzech słowo Hajduk oznaczało żołnierza piechoty w XVI i XVII wieku. Ten model bazuje na wzorach szabli polsko węgierskiej i sięga korzeniami panowania Stefana Batorego, który do polskiej wojskowości oprócz reform husarii wprowadził także piechotę. 

    Szabla Hajduk, mimo małej wagi 805 g, ma długą kawaleryjską klingę (84 cm). Punkt ciężkości 240mm i węzeł drgań 60 cm od jelca pozwala jej na skuteczne cięcie pozorników.
