* Every our blade are checked few times during production to avoid mistakes. We give 1 year warranty for breakage not every bend. We can also replace sword which bend on first use/sparring (and I do that without a problem) but after few months of using and sparring minor  bendings are normal thing when forces are to big.  We can make it straight in our workshop, but we do not cover shiping cost. Frankly it is a minute of work and 80 % chances to finish it with foot on the floor. Straightening the blades are common on every sport fencing training:

*FLEX we measure blade stifness in regular buckling test by pushing on the pommel on a scale, based on FEDER Polish HEMA Federation Ruleset.

“GOOD FENCING” TIPS:

1.  Learn to properly thrust with feder and use its blade flexibility – hands up when you hitting.
2.  Cut with proper edge alignment and avoid full force cuts to rigid targets – like Strong of partner blade/crossguard – if he parries your Weak applying force to his Strong does not work for you, only destroys your blade.
3.  Avoid charging to each other in sparring – it may easily  generate huge forces which can bend the blade.

It seems no one has done a proper review on the new Freifechter model. New to ensifer, I bought one for myself. The handling is wonderful. It feels a lot like a real longsword, but it is very safe to fence with. Every cut makes a swoosh sound in the air. I think the sword corrects over edge alignment that is slightly off automatically. The durability of the sword needs no further explication. I bent the weak of the sword during my first bout, but that was after I smashed my weak strongly, flat on, against my opponent’s strong. Straightened it with foot, no problem at all. The blade presence and the point of balance, meatier and more forward than most feders mean that the sword is not as quick but my, this is such a second intention beast. It seeks binding, it breaks through poor defenses, and it parries with such a force that one can confidently set aside your opponent’s blade without paying too much attention as long as it catches. Long edge, short edge, flat, cross. Forget about first-intention moves like a quick undercut with the short edge. I can kind of pull it but it is rather slow to execute. This sword invites strategic layering to a fight.
